    Microsoft Teams direct routing

    Microsoft Teams is making a big impact on the enterprise market. Teams collaboration with federated voice bundled in free of charge has hit a sweet spot. The emergence of Microsoft Direct Routing for Teams has opened up of provision of voice services in and out of the enterprise cloud to third party telecoms providers making the sweet spot even sweeter.

    The provision of Microsoft Direct Routing is facilitated through certified Session Border controllers from third party vendors. Netaxis partners with all three certified vendors : Audiocodes, Ribbon and Oracle. We also have a lab setup with engineers highly experienced in Direct Routing for Teams.

    For the enterprise we provide solutions and services that enable controlled or partial migration to Teams and assist with the integration of Teams with legacy PBX and contact centre solutions.

    For the Carrier/Service Provider our own software products and services offer a route to the simplification of the setup and provisioning of new users on Teams, the ability to provide end user self care through a portal. This brings an overall reduction in cost and complexity whilst at the same time enabling new services.

    Carrier/Service Provider Teams Solutions

    The image is a pictorial representation of the objective of a typical Service Provider:

    Digital UX – find and buy online – user self management – ability to automate – integrate with other saas – transparent reporting and analytics – mobile first but consistent across devices

    The only real way for a voice service provider to differentiate is to provide services (eg voice recording, IVR services) via the SBC, all of which require routing on the SBC.  An SBC needs to know whether a user has subscribed to a service or not – a complicated process that needs simplification if the above objectives are to be achieved.

    Simplification is one of the things that Netaxis bring to the party with our modern, API driven Session Routing Engine. SRE abstracts routing complexity and allows the provisioning and configuration of users and subscribed to services via simple checkboxes.

    The SRE removes the need to manually configure the SBC routing engine, routing table, routing prefix or VLAN, work traditionally performed by skilled voice engineers. This work can now be left to non technical staff cutting costs and freeing up engineers for more productive and important tasks such as network security.

    Multi-tenant configuration is also  simplified using the SRE instead of an sbc using a simple GUI.

    Once teams simplified it becomes much easier to automate and you are another step closer to you goal.
